The former Letzner GmbH owners, Hans-Herrmann Letzner and Thomas Rücker, sold their company to EnviroFALK GmbH (Westerburg) in 2020. Four years ago, Barbara and Ulrich Träger also sold their shares in Wilhelm Werner GmbH (Leverkusen) to EnviroFALK GmbH.
Letzner GmbH is established throughout Europe as a pure pharmaceutical water specialist. Werner GmbH has also built up a significant market share in the DACH market with pharmaceutical water systems, but has also been very successful for a very long time with high purity process and ultrapure water systems in another broad business area.
Both companies supply the pharmaceutical industry, Biotec research and production facilities, contract manufacturers for pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, cosmetics manufacturers and many related suppliers such as primary and secondary packaging materials and active ingredient production.
Werner GmbH has also successfully convinced the microelectronics industry, among others, and now also the major energy suppliers in the new Power-to-X sector. The merger of the two companies was the next and logical step “to combine our decades of expertise in pharmaceutical water treatment,” explains Ulrich Träger, Managing Director responsible for engineering and production. The merger combines the expertise of both companies: “The merger enables us to grow even more strongly and offer an even broader range of water treatment solutions. We want to take on a leading role in Europe soon,” says Thomas Rücker, Managing Director of Sales & Services.
The Leverkusen and Hückeswagen sites also complement each other perfectly for EnviroFALK PharmaWaterSystems: less than 20 minutes away by car, the now almost 130 employees of both companies can grow together. Leverkusen remains the main production site for plant engineering. The production and storage capacity there will be expanded, as the decision has been made to transfer the entire regeneration business with mixed-bed ion exchangers to EnviroFALK GmbH in Westerburg. Leverkusen is thus creating space for more growth in plant engineering.
