The use of untreated water leads to serious consequences in print shops: Limescale deposits clog nozzles in developing machines and hinder the washing out of printing plates. Deposits in cooling towers increase the energy requirement. Lime soap formations cause bare ink rollers and severely disturb the ink-water balance. Metal parts in printing machines corrode. Blocked nozzles in cleaning and humidification systems lead to production disruptions.
